Faatimah A is the Founder & CEO of the Women’s Premier Basketball Association, a FIBA-certified professional women’s basketball league located here in the Bay Area. Her mission is to build an environment where we can empower our athletes, coaches, and staff while creating additional opportunities for members within our ecosystem to succeed both on and off the court. The Women’s Premier Basketball Association was founded in 2022 while Faatimah was in her 5th season as a professional playing abroad. With support from her mentors, she was able to make the leap and faithfully walk into one of her many life purposes. As Founder & CEO of the Women’s Premier Basketball Association, Faatimah oversees the front office responsibilities, Media, Marketing, web development/management, and game operations. Faatimah believes that before the Women’s PBA there were no leagues of this caliber creating spaces for women/community to thrive on and off the court unless they have been given the opportunity to be a part of the WNBA. For some, this league is seen as a second chance for them to recreate their identity so that they can have another chance at pursuing a career as a professional athlete. To date, Faatimah A has been recognized as a recipient of the 2022 Woman Of Courage Award inspired by Congresswoman Jackie Speier. Faatimah has also been featured in ESPN, SF Chronicle, KRON4, KTVU2, Oakland Side Newspaper, Ballers Magazine, and Voyage LA.
